'Magic Man' documentary: a Ryan Maloney production
OK, so it’s a Brave St. Production but I produced and shot it for them along with the very talented supervising producer, Christopher Voos. ‘Magic Man’ is a documentary about a boxer in Brooklyn named Paulie Malignaggi who worked his way up from an abusive childhood to a title opportunity against one of the greatest boxers out there (Miguel Cotto) on New York’s grandest...

YES. X-Games 17 in three days →
I’m positive I could beat my exes in the skateboarding street competition.
Just saying.
It’s not that kind of competition, however, given the nature of the beast I think the ratings would be even greater if guys like P-Rod and Sheckler competed not only against each other, but also their exes.
August 1999. The move to New York.

Check out the street level and you’ll see the exterior of my first apartment in New York. At $800/month this one bedroom apartment was truly a steal.
I was living in Stamford, CT before this in a TINY studio. The all caps almost isn’t jusitified the place was that small. The studio was a little room in the basement of a two family household in Stamford. It had a...

Today is my birthday.
I’m eating candy and will continue to do so until either my teeth give out or the world runs out of candy.
Big birthday plans, obviously.
I share a birthday with Chevy Chase and Matt Damon. That’s cool.

The Silk City Flick Fest is coming up in a couple of weeks from October 7-10 in Hartford, CT. Last year we ran the festival in my hometown of Manchester, CT (whose nickname is The Silk City). We’re keeping the namesake but moving the festivities to the Nutmeg State’s capital and Main Street, Hartford will never be the same.
This year’s event will feature an amazing lineup of...

Chews Landing, NJ and North Hampton, PA. You sexy bastards, you.
Hi everyone. This past weekend I split my time between Jersey on Friday and Saturday in Pennsylvania. (PA and NJ from here on out, because it’s easier.) The shows were fundraisers so the rooms were packed and as usual, the audience members all knew each other and were ready for a raucous evening of comedy and having someone...
P-Rod’s dad is a famous comedian. He’s a famous skateboarder. Rodriguez family…let’s talk adoption, shall we? R-Rod. Ry-Rod? I’m open to suggestions.
A Recap in Review - "You are one sick f*ck".
Sometimes when I get home after a show, it’s hard to fall right to sleep. So if I feel like it, I’ll write up a quick summary of that night’s show or if I’m just sitting around the next day I’ll do it then. Along with recording my stand up spots this is something I’ve always tried to do on a regular basis. Looking back at them long after the fact is fun for me and it helps remind me of the...

A Recap in Review
Sometimes when I get home after a gig, it’s hard to fall right to sleep. Great stand up comedy looks like it’s coming off the top of your head. Great improvisational comedy is exactly that…hilarious and totally created in the moment. I personally love the satisfaction of writing my own material and preparing a set for a show. Then, acting as my own writer, producer, director, actor on stage, it feels great to deliver my act full of things I find funny...

Snatchback pilot (click here to watch) →
This pilot was an amazing experience. We traveled to Louisiana, to a very dangerous neighborhood just outside of New Orleans. The concept for the show is that Mark Miller, founder of the American Association for Lost Children, goes at it on a case by case basis, taking on various opportunities to rescue children who have been abducted.
This particular case features two young children who were...
SK8BOARDING SKILLZ UPDATE:
As of August 16, 2010, I am still unable to brake without watching the board develop a mind of it’s own and head out from underneath me. The plus side is, I consistently end up getting my money’s worth from the helmet I bought.
Approaching large crowds of people in Central Park still makes me anxious as I just know I have no ability to stop in time and...

Weekend Warriors (click here to watch) →
One of the more exciting, unscripted pilots I shot/produced is about a league of rich guys in Florida who race expensive racing cars on the weekends and smash them up for fun. The series is called Weekend Warriors - Laps of Luxury and features an appearance by stuntman legend, the original X-Games daredevil, Evel Knievel.
Filmed in and around Daytona International Speedway, it includes a ton...

This is a cool video filled with stills and looks behind the scenes on the set of a short film I’m in called “Lost and Found”. The film is about a woman who loses her brother and decides to turn his ashes into a diamond. She loses the stone and does all she can to track down his remains. I play the unsupportive boyfriend. The film won a screenplay award in the First Run...

Posting a link to my old website put me in an archive frame of mind. Listen to this interview I did with a Finnish Radio show about stand up comedy in the late 90’s. It is hosted by one of the biggest names in stand up in Finland, Andre Wickstrom. A lot of I would say is hogwash now, however, a lot of it still holds up. If you speak Finnish, you’ll understand the whole thing. If...
My Old Website (I Love the 90's!) →
My very first website is a blast from the past. I barely knew any code and there weren’t any cool sites with already built-in web templates. I just went with the information my computer expert roommate could give me and built, what I thought at the time, was a pretty cool website. I love looking at all the hilarious colors and links and that it’s just an endless, abyss of a...
